Alexandria VA Newborn Photographer| Baby Boy William Makes Family of Four

Some babies come into the world on their own terms. Baby William was born at home with his dad there to catch him, while his big sister slept upstairs. Life can come unexpectedly, but they have the most amazing story and memories. My favorite thing is getting to see clients again and again. It’s so special to be able to meet a family and then get to document the most important parts of their lives. To meet their new babies when they’re so new, to watch their children grow.

I’ve been fortunate to work with this family for several years now. To photograph both of mom’s pregnancies, and now both of their babies. See each of their sessions here:

I’m sitting in my studio as I write this, and all I can think about is how in awe I am. Of course I’m proud of this space and what I’ve been able to do here, but mostly, I’m in awe at the families and babies that have visited me here. Everyone from the silly siblings, tired dads, and beautiful moms - it’s amazing to reflect on the people who have come through my door.

This family was certainly no different at all. I met mom and dad at her maternity session, but didn’t get to see big brother until the newborn session. Big brother is already a teenager, but so in love. It was wonderful to get to photograph a brand new family together, together in photos for the first time. Here are some of my favorites from our session together - enjoy!

Northern VA Baby Photographer | See Your Images Everyday

We live in a digital age, but for me artwork is it. I understand the easy appeal of digital files - they're convenient and instant. You don't have to wait around and you can share them in a single click. We are busy and have to focus on what's coming up next, it's hard to slow down and consider what images we want to have and where.

But ultimately, what good is a photograph if you never see it? Share away on facebook and instagram (I love them both!), but eventually your images will fall below the scroll where you can't see them anymore. Computers crash. Websites fail. Technology is upgraded and the old things are lost. Think of how many computers and phones you’ve owned and how much was lost each time you got something new.

You worked so hard for these images. You searched for the best photographer. You planned outfits and looks. You wrangled children (and perhaps even your spouse) and made sure everyone looked their best. You spent so much time and effort on your images… make sure they end up somewhere that you'll see them everyday.
