Some babies come into the world on their own terms. Baby William was born at home with his dad there to catch him, while his big sister slept upstairs. Life can come unexpectedly, but they have the most amazing story and memories. My favorite thing is getting to see clients again and again. It’s so special to be able to meet a family and then get to document the most important parts of their lives. To meet their new babies when they’re so new, to watch their children grow.

I feel like I say it all the time, but I can’t help but it again: I love getting to see clients return for sessions again and again. It’s like re-connecting with a dear friend each time. Getting to celebrate the most important changes in your family. I’ve seen this beautiful family multiple times, most recently to mama’s maternity session when she was pregnant with baby girl Ruby, and of course for Ruby’s newborn session as well. One of my favorite things is getting to watch babies grow. Working with so many families that see me for years is the best feeling. I get to watch the tiniest of babies grow into toddlers, big kids, and siblings. Creating those relationships is a joy. This is the second time Katie visited me for a motherhood session (you can see images from their first session here). Just her and her little boy in the studio, enjoying being with each other. They have such a special bond and I love how they interact with each other. I adore his little hands on her face, there’s no better feeling.
