Glowing Mama-to-Be | Arlington VA Maternity Pregnancy Photographer

A funny story: I went to high school (this isn't the funny part) and then many years later (I won't get into how many years later) I did a session with an expecting mama (not the mama pictured here). Shortly after her session I learned that she was friends with someone I went to high school with (see how the high school part is relevant now?). And shortly after that, said friend, gorgeous Brittany pictured below, became pregnant and then we met up x number of years later for her maternity session. Small world.

I was so happy to reconnect with Brittany. She is beyond sweet (hasn't changed at all since high school) and it was such a joy to work with her. The light and the evening were perfection as we celebrated and captured this special time for her. I am so thrilled to have been a small part of it and to meet up again with someone I knew so long ago.

These two are oh so much fun.

There's nothing like a glowing mama-to-be, but I love it when dads join in on maternity sessions too. It's such a huge life-changing time for a couple and I love capturing this wonderful anticipation of a new baby phase. I had a lovely time with Dawn and Brian during our outdoor maternity session together. They are such a sweet couple and oh the laughs! There was no shortage of laughter during this session. They laugh and play and are flirty and cute with one another. 

And of course Dawn was gorgeous and glowing the entire time. The joy and love and anticipation of meeting their new baby boy was everywhere. He is going to be one loved and lucky little guy. Here are some of my favorite images from our session together - enjoy!

Expecting Parents | Alexandria VA Maternity Photographer

This year I've had the opportunity to organize not one, but two incredible shoot outs with my local photographers this year and it has been so much fun. And in case that sounds violent, it isn't. Promise. ;)

A group shoot out is when a bunch of photographers get together and do what they love most: photograph the most amazing and wonderful people. This shoot out, just like the last one, was with some of my fellow local Clickin Moms photographers. There is nothing like getting together with a fantastic group of smart, talented, and funny group of women. They are all a total and complete blast to be around.

At the last shoot out we photographed a gorgeous pregnant mama and her handsome little boy, and this time we photographed beautiful first time mom Erin and her husband for a maternity session. To say they were a dream to work with would be an understatement. And they both seriously impressed all of us. They are both avid runners and Erin was still running everyday at months pregnant! They were such a joy to be around and I was so thrilled to photograph them.

Beautiful Baby Boy on the Way | Leesburg, VA Pregnancy and Newborn Photographer

Fun fact: Mom-to-be Karleigh is Kristen's sister, who I recently worked with for her maternity and newborn sessions. So fun to document both of their pregnancies and little ones! I loved working with this gorgeous mama-to-be for her maternity session. Dad-to-be joined us too and I had such a great time with them both. I always think fathers should take part in maternity sessions, after all it's a big occasion for them too! They were eagerly waiting for their baby boy to make his debut, and I am too! I can't wait to meet him for his newborn session when he makes this a family of three.

Northern VA Outdoor Maternity Session | Manassas VA Pregnancy Photographer

Oh my goodness I had such a good time at this session. Mom Cameron is a hobby photographer with a lot of photographer friends, and I always take it to heart when fellow photography enthusiasts choose to work with me. I loved chatting with her about camera gear and kids and being a mom. The whole family got together for her maternity session and they were a complete joy to work with. Nora may be one of my favorite three olds ever. She is so smart and charming and enthusiastic about becoming a big sister. Much like her, I can't wait to meet the new baby girl!
