Gorgeous Mom-to-Be - Almost Family of 3 | Springfield VA Maternity Photographer

I'm so excited to share this session but, first I have to highlight my new logo! I love it. It's a brand new year and things are ramping up fast at Kate Juliet Photography, a new logo is just the start. And an awesome start at that.

Also awesome? This ah.may.zing and completely gorgeous maternity session with this mom-to-be. I met Jenny at home for her session in Fairfax (cold weather will never keep me away from a session!) and it was nothing short of magic. Mom-to-be is so stunning and lovely. She was a joy to work with and, more importantly, there is a lot of joy surrounding the anticipation of baby! It's going to be a surprise to find out if baby is a boy or girl (my vote, boy) but I cannot wait to meet the little one for his or her newborn session.

During this maternity session, Maggie, puppy and expert cuddler, joined us for a few images too. Her underbite is just about the cutest thing ever and she definitely hammed it up for the camera. First babies always like the try to steal the show, don't they?

One Year Old Girl | Arlington VA Baby Photographer

I love photographing this family. Not only did I do Piper's newborn photos, but also her Fresh 48 session and I photographed mom for her maternity images. It's so exciting to see a little one get so big.

Still, turning a year old is exhausting. Happy Birthday Piper.

I wasn't able to offer family sessions this fall the way I would have liked (if I can't do something well and offer my clients the level of service they deserve it just doesn't work out). So sorry to everyone who inquired about family sessions that I wasn't able to do them for you. I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to offer sessions to current and previous KJP clients. Crossing my fingers and toes it works out!

I managed to squeeze in exactly one family session for this lovely family and luckily we had some amazing weather. Fall in Northern Virginia... you never quite know what's going to happen with the weather. This family is so much fun to work with, I last saw them for a Mommy & Me session, and I love love love getting to see my babies as they grow up. (and yes, every newborn I photograph is one of "my" babies!) Abby is now 9 months old and she was so.much.fun. All smiles and giggles. She's started pulling up on her own so it looks like walking is just around the corner (parents, prepare now!). I just loved capturing this family together, and how gorgeous are Abby and her mom together? Love.

Handsome Baby Boy | Reston VA Newborn Photographer

Handsome baby boy Cooper was such a dream. During baby Cooper's newborn session Mom showed me this beautiful blanket that she wanted to incorporate in the session. With the changing weather in Northern VA it was the perfect opportunity head outside for a few minutes, something I don't often do during newborn sessions. The throw was from Cooper's grandparents and I love how Mom's arms are wrapped around him, with the blanket wrapping around the both of them together.

Brand New Baby Brother | Arlington VA Hospital Newborn Photographer

This post is long overdue, but I hope handsome little Evan's brand new squishyness makes up for at least some of my tardiness! I got to meet Evan's mom for her maternity session and also met with them for his newborn photos. In between, I was thrilled to do this in-hospital Fresh 48 session after he was born. From his very first hours he was surrounded by so much love. Mom and Dad were there of course, but so were Grandma and Grandpa. And even though he didn't show it right away, I think even big brother Declan had nothing but love for his new little brother. I love in-hospital sessions because they capture something so authentic and so wonderful when it's brand new.

Congratulations to this new family of four!
