What is included with a Motherhood session?

Each session includes a 15-20 minute session with mother & child or expecting moms in my residential studio in Fairfax, VA, access to the Kate Juliet Photography studio wardrobe for mothers, and a private online gallery for you to order from. Children ages 3 months and up are welcome. 

Who can participate in a motherhood session?

These petite sessions are offered exclusively to current and previous KJP clients and are for mothers & children only. Images will include both mother & child, no other participants are permitted for this event. These sessions can also be used as a petite maternity session for expecting mothers.

Where will my session take place?

All sessions will take place on April 26, 2026 at my residential studio in Fairfax, VA.

What should I wear?

All moms will have access to the curated studio wardrobe, each piece carefully selected to photograph beautifully and flatter moms of all shapes and sizes. A small sampling of items is also available for babies in limited sizes. If you prefer to wear your own clothing, solid, neutral colored pieces are recommended.

A few minutes are allocated at the beginning of each session to finalize your wardrobe. Having one or two "top choices" in mind will make the process go more quickly, so we can spend more time capturing images of you and your child together.

How will I receive the images from my session?

You will be sent a link to a password protected online gallery within three weeks of your session, galleries typically contain approximately 10 images. Your gallery will be active for five days for you to select your favorite images & artwork and place your order. Most artwork pieces are delivered to you within 6-8 weeks.

When should I book my session?

These sessions typically sell out quickly, so I recommend booking right away! If possible, I recommend moms with kiddos who don’t take naps to please book those afternoon sessions (so moms who have napping kids can take advantage of those morning times), but ultimately it’s first come, first served. I can’t wait to see you there!

What if I can’t make it to my session?

This is a special photography event, with a limited number of sessions offered on one day only. All session retainers are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled to another day. If you or your child are ill the day of the event, please email Kate as soon as possible.

~ studio notices ~

My natural light studio is one of my very favorite places to be. It has everything needed for sessions including wraps for babies, clothing for mamas, and stickers for the older kiddos. The natural light in my studio is wonderful, providing gorgeous light almost every day of the year. On occasion though, mostly on very rainy days, it is necessary to reschedule sessions in the studio to get the best light for your session. In the event this happens I will reschedule your session for as soon as possible. Rescheduling studio sessions due to inclement weather are made at the sole discretion of the photographer.

For the safety of the other babies and families entering the studio, as well as for myself, the studio maintains a strict policy regarding illnesses. It is studio policy to reschedule sessions if anyone is sick or has been sick in the last 24 hours before a session. If you or anyone in your family is sick, please contact me as soon as possible. If anyone in your family appears to be sick at the session, it is at my discretion to reschedule your session even after you arrive at the studio.

Please be aware that as my studio is a residence, there are dogs who live there. While the dogs are not generally allowed in the studio space and you will not see them during your session, those with allergies should be aware and take any necessary precautions as you see fit.

I do my best to promptly respond to all messages, but due to my busy weekend session schedule please be aware that I only respond to emails, phone calls, and messages during regular business hours Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
